Waterdrinker, has become a respite location for many Long Islanders during a time where many people are searching for more outdoor activities. As the pandemic struck New York, Waterdrinker adapted what was an ordinary and basic everyday local farm into an incredible escape for many. During the brutal winter months this farm turned their property into a scenic winter wonderland, adorned with an outdoor fire pits, an airstream village, outdoor holiday movies, a hot cocoa truck, photo spots, S’mores for roasting, as well as an ice skating rink. As people struggled during a time of mandatory social distancing, Waterdrinker gave all Long Islanders a place to go and escape.
Now as the warmer weather is on the horizon and spring approaches, Waterdrinker at exit 69 off of the Long Island Expressway, has done it again. Waterdrinker’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on the field on Saturday, April 3, 2021. The event we are allanxiously awaiting for, is to view the sea of red, yellow, orange, purple and pink tulips at the infamous annual Tulip Festival, which will open mid-April. The waves of color produced by these exquisite flowers have people stopping for photo opportunities, as well as parking alongside the road to take in the amazing views. Waterdrinker also has a fabulous play area for children of all ages, as well as a small animal farm. Waterdrinker has become a popular destination for many on Long Island. The word around town is they are also in the process of building a local brewery, which will be opening soon, where guests will have the opportunity to sample their local beers. So they are not done yet, keeping Long Islanders busy with exciting happenings on the east end . If you are looking for a fun and safe socially distanced activity for spring, be sure to visit Waterdrinker. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss. Don’t forget your camera.
